Pee Shy

Recounting events from the horrific to the heroic, Dr. Frank Spinelli’s memoir Pee-Shy takes us on a journey to confront the scoutmaster who molested him at age eleven.  Sexually abused and debilitated with the condition of being pee-shy—or unable to urinate at will—Spinelli weaves a story from his tattered past to create a book that is a detective story, a romance, and a cautionary tale rolled into one.

Along the way, he examines the issues of abuse, sexuality, masculinity, and emotional health. Ultimately, Pee-Shy educates, inspires and heals.  You can listen to my interview with him here.
